“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future”.
Jeremiah
29.11 (NIV)
Hello and welcome to our website!
We have lots of information here about our character as a Christian church and the kinds of things we get up to, during the week, as well as on Sundays. St Paul’s is a thriving, modern, open evangelical Anglican church. There are many ways in which we serve the community and witness to God’s love. We’d really like to share some of that with you here, so please do explore and enjoy. If you have any questions or inquiries, please do get in touch with us.
Our Priest-in-charge is the Rev Richard Chand. You can find his contact details at the bottom of this page.
True Direction's Christingle Service 2020
St Paul's Church began meeting in a corrugated iron building in East Street in 1913 as a mission church to the expanding area of East Braintree. The land where the present church building stands was acquired in 1952, but it was not until October 1969 that the present building was opened as a church centre. During this period, St Paul's was part of the parish of St Michael's. In 1992, the new parish of St Paul's, Braintree came into being.
Our vision is to be at the heart of the community, revealing the heart of God.
To help us achieve this vision, we aim to:
- create a warm welcome and sense of belonging to God's family through invitation, inclusion and involvement;
- put God at the centre of everything we do, keeping our faith and trust in Him;
- love our neighbour and show God's love to people;
- acknowledge and grow our God-given gifts in order that we may serve the community and give generously;
- grow faith in the love and truth of God through prayer, reading the Bible and spending time together;
- be open, truthful and honest, and act with integrity.
