True Direction
(N.B. meets as one group at the moment)
This is the umbrella term for the children's groups that run on a Sunday morning. (We're not quite sure how the name started, but it might be something to do with One Direction, who won X Factor back in 2010!)
There are several aspects to what we do:
The True Direction slot
This is a short all-age sermon that we have at the start of Morning Worship services (first and third Sunday of the month), before the children go off to their groups. It's interactive, and fun (hopefully!) After this, the children go off into their respective groups.
The groups
We have three groups:
- The 0-3s group meet in the old kitchen, and enjoy supervised play during the main part of the Sunday service.
- the 4-9s read through a story taken from The Children's Bible, and then take part in a related activity.
- The 10-15s group consider the Bible readings of the morning. There may be craft activities, discussion, or other interactive ways of learning.
Show and Tell
On Morning Worship weeks, one of the children's groups will report back to the grown-ups on what they have been doing that morning.
